The
Mountain System saves
weight but increases dB levels. The new exhaust system
eliminates 11 pounds from the RX-1 or Apex while maintaining all performance
aspects of Yamaha’s well optimized 4 into 2 into 1 /2 exhaust design. The
system is made of stainless steel and exits through the stock cowling
behind the seat. MPI recommends for additional weight reduction,
ceramic/aluminum coating the system and eliminating the majority of the
OEM heat shielding under the seat.
