MPI STANDALONE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM
(Not a piggyback! 100% designed for
snowmobile from the ground up) |
This System will only be sold for use on Mountain Performance
Supercharger kits and Impulse Turbo Kits. Contact Impulse directly for
retrofits on your Impulse kit. This system is a technological advancement
unequaled in the snowmobile world.
This computer is a custom designed,
standalone EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) control system specifically
designed for use on boosted snowmobiles. This system completely eliminates
the factory computer's control of the fuel injection.
Unlike all other
systems available on the market (including out older GEMS system) this unit
is standalone. We refer to all the other systems available as "Piggybacks".
The Piggyback's job is to fool and override the factory computer system into
performing differently
than its original designed. A piggyback
intercepts the injection signal from the factory computer, modifies the
signal and then outputs the modified signal to the injectors. The problem
with all piggyback systems is that it never knows exactly what the factory
system is doing. This is because the piggyback only has the factory
computer's output as its input. The one exception to this is a boost sensor.
In fact, the factor IAT (Intake Air Temp) sensor is disabled since the
factory computer cannot comprehend the high air temperatures produced by
super or turbo charging. The piggyback can only add or remove fuel based on
boost. As anyone is aware who has ridden with a piggyback, is that they
don't always run the same from day to day, location to location and sled to
sled. The piggyback simply doesn't have enough data (or sensors of its own)
to make accurate decisions. Take any piggyback on the market, tune it in a
specific location then move to a different location (something 5000 feet
higher or lower) and it will not run correctly without tweaking.
Our standalone thinks
for itself. It is a full featured computer and actually has more sensors
than the factory computer. We include a MAP (Manifold Air Pressure, or
Boost) sensor, BARO (BAROmetric pressure) sensor, IAT (Intake Air Temp)
sensor and ECT (Engine Coolant Temp) sensor. We share the output from the
factory TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) and the factory Crank Position sensor. There are
no buttons to press and no knobs to tune. Its done. The system runs in a
semi-closed look environment as a speed density system. This is the control
systems used on all high performance high boost vehicles from cars and boats
to motorcycles and aircraft.

- Note, if ECU is used with the ProLogger, the ECU is aware of AFR (Air:Fuel
Reading).

The ProLogger is a wideband O2 data logger, boost gauge, dual temperature
gauge, boost controller, two stage methanol injection controller, two stage
nitrous oxide controller with digital tachometer display and programmable
outputs. The ProLogger is also a wideband o2 controller compatible with most
aftermarket engine management systems. It consists of real-time monitoring
of air/fuel ratio, RPM’s, two temperature readouts and boost/vacuum on a big
super-bright LED display. It is like having four digital playback gauges in
one. PLEASE NOTE: The units has some options and not
all features are available at the same time. You must decide between either
Boost control OR Dual Temperature readout. Both configurations offer Boost
Gauge Readout. The unit can also only control a total of 2 stages of
injection: 2 methanol, 2 nitrous, or 1 methanol and 1 nitrous. 1 or no
stages are also OK.
The Dual Temperature version
features user defined warning limits. Regardless of the current display
setting (AFR/Boost/RPM or Oil Temp/Water Temp.RPM) the unit with switch to
temp readout mode and flash the reading indicating a warning limit has been
reached.
Total stand alone data logging and playback of air/fuel ratio, RPM’s,
elapsed time, and manifold pressure in 1/10 second increments. The ProLogger
will control conventional or delta p style race gate turbo systems. It will
also control multiple stages of nitrous oxide or methanol injection with
failsafe lean parameters you can program into the unit. Melted pistons due
to lean conditions are a thing of the past. There is NO need to get out the
laptop as it is NOT REQUIRED FOR SETUP OR FUNCTIONALITY.
The possibilities are endless; performance tuning, snowmobiles, quads,
UTVs, drag racing, circle track, road racing, off road, motorcycle, sport
compact, speed shop tuning, etc.
The ProLogger is manufactured from an industrial grade black anodized
aluminum housing made to withstand the harsh environment of 3000 horsepower
engines. The inside components are made with state of the art surface mount
technology manufactured to ISO 9001 standards and all American made.
The ProLogger Basic comes with the controller, wideband oxygen sensor,
wiring harness, and bung for installing the sensor. Depending upon your
resources most installations take less than two hours. The kit includes a
detailed installation and instruction manual.
- The Boost Control version adds a boost sensor and a boost control
solenoid.
- The Dual Temp version adds a boost sensor and 2 temp sending units.
A pre-wired snowmobile harness exchange is available for the dual
temperature version.
A Tach adaptor is required on some units utilizing DIS ignition (distributorless
ignition system) and no CAM sensor. Eg: Nytro requires an adaptor, Apex does
not require an adaptor.

NYTRO & APEX LARGER INJECTORS |
These are custom matched
and machined injectors. The injectors flow 42 pounds of fuel per hour (or
440cc/min). The OEM Nytro fuel injector flows 330cc/min while the Apex flows
390cc/min. This is the correct injector to support the larger horsepower
requirements of superchargers and turbochargers. The kit is Plug and Play,
which means no wire cutting / splicing etcetera. As the injectors are just
slightly longer than the OEM units, adaptor hardware is included for the
fuel rail.

| MPI’s new Nytro Exhaust System is two versions of the RX-1 lightweight exhaust system.
11dB Louder with an 11lbs savings
The High Performance MPI Nytro Exhaust System saves
weight but increases dB levels. The new exhaust system
weighs just 4.75 pounds, with the OEM system weighing over 17 pounds. It
was designed for use on Stock and Supercharged units. As this system has
significantly less backpressure than the OEM system, Turbo should
consult their kit manufacturers, as the increased flow and reduced
backpressure will likely be detrimental to a turbo's performance. The
system is made of 100% stainless steel and exits through the stock cowling
behind the seat. The
unit includes a billet aluminum tip.

NYTRO SUPERCHARGER COLD
AIR INTAKE |
| MPI’s newest add on for the FX-Nytro
Supercharger Kit. Works on all 2008+ Nytro models, including MTX, RT, RTX,
XTX.
High Performance MPI Nytro Cold Air Supercharger Intake
fits conveniently under the hood. In extreme circumstances the unit may be routed
through the hood, but testing has shown that simply rerouting the intake
to the protected area over the clutches is sufficient to provide good
clean dry cold air. The kit is easy to install, but does require that
you remove your intercooler to access the supercharger inlet. A template
is included to drill a hole in the left side bulkhead (testing shows no
effect to structural rigidity of the bulkhead. Includes Fabricated
mandrel bent 2.5" aluminum air tube, new filter and all hardware
required for installation.

NYTRO & APEX HEAD STUD KITS |
MPI’s offers custom ARP studs designed for
the specific application. These are available for either the Nytro or the
apex. The OE head stud or bolt is designed to stretch as the motor heats up
allowing the head to cylinder interface to be a little flexible. This is
great for stock care free start up with inexperienced operators. With the
addition of boost or high compression to your snowmobile, the soft flexible
OE connection is no longer appropriate. We employ a full 10mm 200,000 PSI
hardened stud. In the case of the Nytro, the kit includes nuts and washers.
The apex kit reuses the OE nuts and washers.
Please note: When using the hardened stud you must allow the
motor to reach at least 130deg of water temperature before full throttle
operation.
FEATURES:

NYTRO & APEX BYPASS / BLOW-OFF VALVE KITS |
MPI’s a Bypass / Blow-off valve specifically designed for Snowmobile
Supercharger and Turbo Charger Kits. The kit includes everything to install
the valve directly on a Mountain Performance Supercharger Kit. Newer MPI
charger kits already have the weldment installed on the intercooler. If you
have an older MPI intercooler without the weldment, we will install this for
you at no additional charge (you pay S&H for intercooler only).
If installing the kit on a
generic turbo kit, 2 different weldments are available. One is flat and the
other is designed to be installed on a 5" radius (or smaller).
If you are planning to weld
your own weldment on an older MPI kit, we will provide you the weldment at
no additional charge!
FEATURES:
- 100% Billet Delta Pressure Valve. Double sided diaphragm valve with 2
control hoses.
- Plumbing includes all fitting and manifolds required to connect the

NYTRO, APEX & RX-1 CONNECTING RODS SETS |
Crower has designed these rod sets
specifically for Mountain Performance. They are engineered with an I-Beam
design for maximum strength while conserving as much weight as possible.
Crower's patented technology is called "Radial Beam Maxi-Light". These rods
are significantly lighter that other popular billet choices yet offer equal
or greater strength. This has a noticeable effect of the acceleration rate
of the motor and even more significantly reduces stress on the crankshaft by
reducing the rotating mass.
FEATURES:
- H-11 220,000 psi bolts are standard (compare to the competitions 180,000
psi 8740 bolts)

PISTON KITS |
Wiseco and JE are great, but ask anyone who owns them and you’ll learn they
burn oil badly. MPI has designed a custom Wiseco piston and OEM ring
combination eliminating oil usage and associated problems. These forged piston's domes are based on the
standard JE "turbo" design with thickened ring lands. The ring land design
was over 2 years in testing to yield a low leakage, long lasting design.

SUPER SIZED NYTRO TUNNEL COOLER |
|
The OEM Nytro cooling system is often inadequate
for the higher cooling demands of high horsepower supercharged and turbo
charged snowmobiles. Drawing from our 12 years of Yamaha Tunnel and
Cooling experience base, we designed the tunnel coolers to work with even
the largest tracks without modification to the tunnels appearance.
This kit can be used with or
without the OEM radiator. This makes it possible to shed even more weight
from the snowmobile while still enhancing the overall cooling system. This
is no little cooler. The actual extrusion measures just over 8 feet long.
YES! E I G H T FEET. Compare
this to the OE tunnel cooler that isn't even 2 feet long!!
Performance improvements are HUGE! Typically 60 degrees cooler with our
tunnel cooler and the OE Radiator. Typically 40 degrees cooler with our
cooler only (that's you eliminating the OE radiator and OE tunnel cooler).

Our XTX Nytro (stock radiator and No OEM
Tunnel cooler) ran typical temps over 200deg. WITH OUR NEW COOLER AND
THE OE RADIATOR our max temps are 150deg and 110deg in the powder
(actually to cool). We are going to pull the OE cooler on this unit.

Our 2010 MTX Special Addition (stock radiator and OEM tunnel cooler) ran
typical temps close to 200deg. With our new cooler only (deleted the
radiator), our max temps are 160deg. The sled without the radiator
actually idles cooler because without the sled moving, the OE radiator
is actually adding heat.

The
Radiator delete kit includes a degas bottle to help keep the air out of the
