Performance and Team Industries joined together to offer this exciting new
TSS-98 Snowmobile Secondary Clutch for Yamaha application. The TEAM®
Rapid Reaction™ clutch eliminates binding observed in other clutches by
the separation of the alignment function from the activation function.
Close tolerance machining and select materials provide a secondary clutch
that runs cooler and more efficient. The clutch is built with tighter
clearances yielding longer life. This new technology has been successful
in the racing and performance markets, and is superior at delivering
power. Features include Twin enclosed rollers and a Twin Trax™helix; the
helix is actually two helixes in one. Each helix includes two different
angle combinations. Select a steeper angle for those hard pack days and a
shallower angle for the deep powder days. The features result in 1)
Smooth, consistent up shift and back shift, 2) proved efficiency,
performance, and durability, 3) Tunable with cam angles and springs, and
4) Extended belt life. All the tuning has been done. MPI spent last year
tuning this clutch system for optimum Yamaha performance through all
conditions imaginable. The result is a tailored setup to fit your exact
needs.
To match the unique
design, a new type of multi-angle helix has been developed: The 1/2
progressive: Example a 50/40 1/2 progressive starts at 50deg and falls to
40deg; but unlike other multi-angle helixes is hits its finish angle 1/2
way through the shift and them acts like a straight angle through the
remainder of he shift. Over 100 Helix Angles Already Exist. That's 50
